That, that’s my husband!
How, then, can we be exemplary parents given that we constantly complain about our children spending too much time in front of their screens?
Well, I try and make an effort too and I have to say, Family Pact also acts as a reminder for me.
Because credibility, that’s all we really have!
I may be addicted but I’m still realistic: I can hardly tell the boys that they can only watch Youtube or play video games for two hours at the weekend, if I remain glued to my phone and my husband is building his village on Clash of Clans!
It may seem crazy that a digital tool such as Family Pact can help to break our addiction but I promise you it’s true, addict’s word :) !
Because, at the end of the day, we all promise to keep a check on our screen time. What’s more, we’re now very (too) proud when we go as a family to a restaurant and next to us there are parents and children in mode “each one on their phone”.
A moment of congratulating and patting each other on the back which borders on being over the top, snide little remarks from the children “have you seen those children...!”
We all know that we have to stick at it, that it’s hard, that there’s always a risk of relapsing...
We’re in it together!
